Augusta Kickboxing star, Nathan “SHOW STOPPER” Key WINS GOLD at Irish Open

    Rarely do fighters have the perfect mix of discipline, skill, toughness, intelligence, and personality that give them star quality. Nathan Key, IS the rare exception. A native of AUGUSTA, GA and competitor/instructor at Greubel’s Mixed Martial Arts, Nathan hones his craft daily to one day become the very best on the planet. Nathan has come close a couple of times by winning the SILVER medal in the World’s Largest Kickboxing organization’s tournamnet. The WAKO, World Kickboxing tournament brings more high level fighters from more countries than any other tournament on the planet including ALL of the tournaments thrown in the United States. WAKO stand for the WORLD ASSOCIATION OF KICKBOXING ORGANIZATIONS. It’s tournament is the Olympics of Kickboxing. Recently Nathan was lucky to be a part of history. He participated in in the IRISH OPEN, a WAKO tournament, and WON GOLD. In order to do that he had to defeat an Olympic boxer from Germany, TOUGH AMERICAN from Chicago, and last he battled a 6’3″ Irishman in Dublin, Ireland at the IRISH OPEN. Nathan Key is easily one of the best kickboxers in the United States and one day plans on being the best in the WORLD! He is getting there day by day and he has a HUGE Augusta following that is cheering him on every step of the way. Next up for Mr. Key is a fight in RUSSIA against his opponent that he lost to in 2011 at the last WAKO World Kickboxing tournament. At the time Nathan was away from his usual training camp, Greubel’s MMA, and trying to complete his engineering degree at GA TECH. He was only able to train in Augusta with his team one day a week due to the fact that he was finishing up college in Savannah. This time Nathan will be prepared and hopes to make right the loss took in the World championships in 2011. Nathan made it to the finals in the 2013 World Championships while the opponent he lost to got shut out in the first round of fighting against the eventual Gold Medal winner. Nathan would fight 4 times to make it to his 5th and final fight against a tough French opponent in the finals. IN CLOSING Nathan would have to accept the SILVER medal for his efforts, but was happy to start training again to make himself even stronger for his next match. In the IRISH OPEN his new training regimen and game plan proved to be very effective and he was able to walk away with the GOLD this time. The fight in Russia scheduled for July will be an interesting rematch against a very game Russian opponent that is ready to prove a point, but Nathan has something to prove as well. The excitement level for this fight is off the charts, so stay tuned and I will let you know how it turns out!
